Partner With Us to Raise Awareness of Pregnancy Studies for Chronic Health Conditions

MotherToBaby is partnering with content creators who have managed specific chronic health conditions during pregnancy. By sharing personal stories, the campaign aims to raise awareness of MotherToBaby’s Pregnancy Studies and the need for more research on maternal health conditions and the medications used to treat them. The focus is on engaging content that drives sign-ups for these observational pregnancy exposure registries.

MotherToBaby is seeking content creators who are living with one of the following chronic health conditions and who managed this condition during a current or recent pregnancy:

We conduct pregnancy exposure registries, and we’d like to partner with content creators who would be willing to post about their personal experiences living with and managing these health conditions while pregnant. The goal of our Empowering Maternal Voices campaign is to promote awareness of MotherToBaby’s Pregnancy Studies and facilitate sign-ups for our observational pregnancy registries through partnered blogs, podcasts, and/or social media.

Who is MotherToBaby?
MotherToBaby specializes in providing evidence-based information in response to questions about the benefit/risk of exposures during pregnancy or breastfeeding, such as medications, vaccines, substances of abuse, and maternal health conditions.

We also conduct observational pregnancy exposure registries on the safety of medications, vaccines, and maternal health conditions in pregnancy. Our MotherToBaby Pregnancy Studies aim to provide the information that pregnant people and healthcare providers need to make better and safer treatment decisions.

MotherToBaby is run by the Organization of Teratology Information Specialists, a non-profit professional society of experts who specialize in the prevention of birth defects that are caused by exposures during pregnancy. Our pregnancy exposure registries are led by MotherToBaby Pregnancy Studies researcher Dr. Christina Chambers, a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego who is known across the world for the research she conducts on medication and vaccine safety in pregnancy.

What is a Pregnancy Exposure Registry?
These are observational studies that collect health information during pregnancy to better understand the effects of medications, vaccines, and medical conditions. Participants do not take any study drugs or change their care—they simply share their experience with researchers.

All participant information is kept private and used only for research purposes.

The Benefits of MotherToBaby Pregnancy Studies:
MotherToBaby Pregnancy Studies goes beyond traditional pregnancy exposure registries. We enroll three different groups of people who are pregnant into our studies. Generally, anyone who belongs to one of these groups could qualify to join our studies:

Group 1: People with certain health conditions who have taken a medication or vaccine that we’re studying during pregnancy.

Group 2: People who have the same health conditions as those in Group 1 but who have not taken the medication/vaccine of interest during pregnancy.

Group 3: People who do not have the health condition being studied and who have not taken the medication/vaccine of interest during pregnancy.
