Who May Qualify?
You may qualify if you are:
- Currently pregnant
- Not planning to receive the Tdap vaccine during this pregnancy
- Willing to participate in research remotely
- Willing to provide permission for researchers to obtain medical records for your pregnancy and your child through 2 months of age
- Live in the United States

What Does Participation Involve?
Participation is completed remotely and includes:
- Up to 4 interviews (1–3 phone interviews during pregnancy, and one after delivery)
- Questions about your pregnancy and health
- Permission to obtain your medical records for your current pregnancy
- Permission to obtain your child’s medical records through 2 months of age
We will not give the Tdap vaccine as part of this study. This is an observational study, which means we simply follow you through your pregnancy and collect information about your pregnancy and your baby’s health through interviews.
Why Is This Research Important?
Some people have questions and concerns about vaccines during pregnancy. Researchers need to study all pregnancy experiences—including pregnancies where vaccines are not received—to better understand potential risks, benefits, and outcomes for mothers and babies. By participating, you can help researchers gather the evidence needed to answer important questions about vaccine safety during pregnancy.
